A cody man lifting system is primarily a kite train.

A pilot kite is flown at a long line, for lifting this line in it’s whole length.

Mounted to this line are conical stopps with from bottom to top increasing diameters. These are stopps for all the other train kites.

Each train kite has a ring at it’s bridle point. The diameters of the rings are matching the diameters of the conical stopps, allowing the rings to glide over some of them, and stopping at one of them. The line is slipped through these rings, allowing the kite to go upways, till it reaches one of the conical stop, matching it’s diameter.

For getting the kite train stable, each single kite has an ring in the middle of the edge of the front cell, which holds it at the line.

If released, the kite ascents at the line, the bridle ring gliding over the conical stopps, till it holds at the matching stopp. In this way, it is possible to start one train kite after another. Train kites are brougth into the system until the system generates enough pull for man lifting.

Put on this line is a big lifter kite. The lifter kites carries the basket for the observer. With help of a simple linkage may the observer vary the kites angle of attack for de- and ascenting.
